The house has 30cm thick rammed earth walls in a unique "rice bubble" style. It is fully solar powered with water supply from a pristine creek and rainwater tank. For cooking we use a gas oven and stove or a wood fire. Heating is by wood fire and gas heaters. Hot water is solar heated with a gas back-up system.  
There is a choice of accommodation for visitors in a large bedroom/study with its own bathroom and toilet in the main house, a converted railway carriage with beds and study area or "the Green Room" which is a fully lined cottage with beds, study area and a small ensuite with a sink and portable toilet.  Visitors also use the main bathroom and toilet in the main house. Meals are shared in a large country-style kitchen with gas and wood stoves and ovens, gas fridges and a large food pantry/storage area. Both the railway carriage and Green Room have pot bellied stoves.
Satellite NBN and wifi is available and there is a landline telephone. Mobile phones do not work in this area. Television is provided by satellite connection in the lounge/dining area where there is a dining table that seats up to 12. comfortable armchairs and a large. octagonal lounge area around a central, enclosed fireplace.
